Short Tutorial/FAQ – What Abbreviations Are Handy for Texts?

Question: To save time, I want to abbreviate more in my texts. Any ideas?
Answer: We're going to assume you're already using common abbreviations such as LOL (Laughing out loud), G2G (Got to go), TTYL (Talk to you later), and IMO (In my opinion). Here are some additional abbreviations to add to the mix:
- AFAIK: As far as I know
- LMK: Let me know
- NVM: Never mind
- JK: Just kidding
- JW: Just wondering
- TBH: To be honest
- TBF: To be frank
- BRB: Be right back
- WYD: What are you doing?
- IDK: I don't know
- NBD: No big deal
- B4: Before
- BC: Because
- JIC: Just in case
- IYKWIM: If you know what I mean
- HBD: Happy birthday
You can also text "k" instead of OK or okay, but be aware that the brevity of "k" can sometimes be interpreted as a lack of engagement or enthusiasm, especially when a more detailed response is expected.
