Short Tutorial/FAQ – How to Enable Automatic Updates for Your Apps

Download Graphics to View As with operating systems, it's important to set your apps to update automatically because developers release security patches when issues crop up, and you'll want to have that protection. Here's how to set automatic updates through the official app store for your device:

Microsoft Store: Open the Microsoft Store app and click the three-dot icon in the top-right corner. Then select "Settings" and make sure the toggle for Update apps automatically is enabled.

Mac App Store: You can make sure your apps update by opening System Preferences > Software Update and clicking the "Advanced" button. Here you'll see an option for "Install app updates" from the App Store.

Google Play: Open the Google Play Store app and then tap Menu > Settings > Auto-update apps.

iOS App Store: Open Settings > App Store and enable App Updates.

If you have other connected devices — such as security cameras, video game systems, smartwatches, doorbells, and locks — also set them to update automatically.
