We saw the Brady bathroom many times on the show, but not once did we see a toilet. People jokingly said this family was so good, clean, and wholesome that they didn't even go to the bathroom. The reason a toilet is never present in any bathroom scene had nothing to do with the FCC or any federal television indecency regulation. ABC self-censored by simply refusing to allow a toilet to be shown on The Brady Bunch (1969-1974). The network censors felt showing a toilet would be in poor taste, although the first appearance of a toilet on television occurred in an episode of Leave it to Beaver on ABC in 1957. © 2023 ABC Entertainment
