That's Right!

You Chose "B" Carl Winslow – That's Correct!

The character Carl Winslow was the only one to appear in every single episode of Family Matters.

ABC premiered Family Matters in September 1989. It was the story of the Winslow family in Chicago and how they dealt with various misadventures, many of them caused by their pesky next-door neighbor, ultra-nerd Steve Urkel (played by Jaleel White).

Policeman and father Carl Winslow (played by Reginald VelJohnson), however, was the only character who appeared in every episode. Carl Winslow made one appearance on Perfect Strangers, which eventually led to the spinoff series, Family Matters.

Jaleel White and Reginald VelJohnson both wrote for the show, which was one of the longest-running U.S. sitcoms with a predominately African American cast. Family Matters became the longest-running American prime-time scripted series then on the air when Murphy Brown ended on May 18, 1998, and retained that status until its final episode on July 17, 1998.
