Answer: A legacy contact is the person who looks after your Facebook account when it's memorialized upon your death. This may sound morbid, but it's a smart thing to think about since social media accounts are assets that — like your physical property — need to be somehow managed after you pass on.
If you agree to serve in this role for your friend, you would be expected to write a pinned post (which would remain permanently at the top of her Timeline), such as a final message or memorial service information.
