Fred and Wilma Flintstone were the first married TV couple to be shown in the same bed.

The Flintstones was an animated American sitcom that aired on ABC from September 30, 1960, to April 1, 1966, and was the first animated series to hold a prime-time slot.

The show was set in a comical version of the Stone Age and followed the lives of Fred and Wilma Flintstone and their next-door neighbors, Betty and Barney Rubble. Although they used primitive technology — driving cars that were powered by people who ran while inside them — their world bore a striking resemblance to mid-20th-century suburban America.

The Flintstones was the longest-running (and most financially successful) network animated franchise for 30 years. In 2013, TV Guide ranked The Flintstones the second-greatest TV cartoon of all time (after The Simpsons).
